BFD2 JEX Expansion Kit features a high-end, custom hand-made kit from XDrum’s Xotica line. The drums feature 6-ply Keller Maple shells with an additional ply of Sapeli Pommele running vertically, resulting in excellent, focused low-end. The finish is hand-applied tung oil, which leads to a very open tone. This download-only BFD2 expansion kit includes the following kit-pieces, all played with sticks, mallets, brushes and rods. The kick drum was hit with both a wood and felt beater.

BFD Oak Custom Expansion Kit features a high-end Yamaha Oak Custom drum kit and Bamboo snare.

Oak is a great material for a drum shell: it resonates with a solid fundamental delivering awesome power when played. Consequently, the toms sound very full-bodied and the bass drum offers a devastating low-end response.In order to complete this set, a new ‘lite’ (16-velocity layers) Yamaha Bamboo snare is included. Its crack and strong tone make it very easy to place in a mix.

What’s included

This download-only BFD v2.1 expansion kit includes toms played with sticks, mallets, and rods. The bass drum is provided in both wood and felt beater versions. The snare is played with sticks, and provided with the snare-strainer on and off.

New v2.1 articulations include ‘rim shots’ and ‘rim clicks’ on the toms (when hit with sticks). The snare also offers ‘rim clicks’ in addition to its standard articulations, as well as support for positional sensing when used with electronic drums.

As an additional bonus, Yamaha Oak Custom comes complete with free cases! Useful for percussion or experimental drum-layering, these kit-pieces are created from recordings of the Yamaha drum cases being played with sticks. Recordings of the 10″, 12″, 14″, and 24″ drum cases are provided.

There are no hi-hats or cymbals included with this expansion kit. However, all the bundled presets are designed around the cymbals in BFD2, and can be easily set up to play with electronic drumkits such as the Yamaha DTXtreme series using BFD2′s mapping functionality.

The Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute series is one of the most advanced kits ever made by Yamaha, with its drums often considered to be some of the finest available.

The BFD Maple Custom Absolute expansion kit is perfect for all genres of music, especially pop, indie, rock, fusion, jazz, classic metal and any other styles that require warm and refined drums.

We’ve had a lot of requests for Octobans in BFD format, but we thought “why limit it to just eight drums?” At FXpansion we always go out of our way to provide you with the best of everything!. That’s why in this kit there are ten DDrum ‘Deccabons’ with 6” heads, ranging from 6” to 24” in depth. As a result, not only does the pitch vary across the range, but the collection showcases different timbral qualities as you move through the different sizes.

These drums make the perfect accent drum set. Utilizing the tuning feature in BFD2, you can also play melodies and chords. Also, with the new effects in BFD v2.1, adding some Envelope Shaper and Breverb really make these drums jump out of the mix.
